The St. David’s School of Nursing, in conjunction with the Chi Psi chapter of Sigma, the international honor society of nursing, will host a Nurses Day celebration on May 3 from 12:30 – 2 p.m. to kick off National Nurses Week. The event will take place on the TXST Round Rock Campus in the Nursing Building located at 1555 University Blvd.

Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan will read a proclamation to declare May 6 – 12 National Nurses Week. In addition to the mayor, other local government officials will be in attendance. The event will feature a health fair with a display of community health posters highlighting evidence-based health related practices, as well as student research posters.

Each year, during National Nurses Week, Americans are called upon to honor the more than 5 million registered nurses for their dedication to improving the lives of others. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Nurses Make the Difference.” More information about National Nurses Week can be found on the American Nurses Association website.
