Texas State teams with THBI to showcase biotech, life sciences during BIO International Convention

Walt Horton, associate vice president for research and federal relations, and Ronald Epperson, major gift officer with University Advancement, will represent Texas State University with the Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Institute (THBI) during the 2019 BIO International Convention June 3-6 in Philadelphia. 

At the convention's Texas Pavilion, Horton and Epperson will help showcase Texas State's role the state’s thriving biotechnology and life sciences sector. More than 16,000 biotechnology and pharmaceutical leaders are expected to attend the annual gathering. 

The BIO International Convention is the largest global event for the biotechnology industry and attracts the biggest names in biotech, offers key networking and partnering opportunities, and provides insights and inspiration on major trends affecting the industry. 

"The BIO International Convention offers Texas a world stage to showcase our state’s strengths in biomedical science, agriculture and medical device innovation," said Tom Kowalski, president and CEO of THBI.
