Award-winning author Ben Fountain to read at Wittliff Collections, KAP House

Award-winning author Ben Fountain will hold a reading and book signing at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center in Kyle Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and at Texas State University's Wittliff Collections April 7 at 3:30 p.m.

The events are free and open to the public.

Fountain's story collection, Brief Encounters with Che Guevara, won the 2007 PEN/Hemingway Award and a Whiting Award. His novel, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, a finalist for the National Book Award, won the 2012 National Book Critics Circle Award and the Los Angeles Times Book Award. Currently he serves as the University Chair in Creative Writing at Texas State.

The event at is part of the Lindsey Literary Series and is sponsored by the Department of English at Texas State, the Burdine Johnson Foundation and the Wittliff Collections.
