The Texas Aquatic Science Website and Teacher's Guide, which was created by Rudy Rosen from The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University, won second place nationally for 2013 in the category "Education and Outreach" from the Association for Conservation Information.

The Teacher's Guide portion was authored by Sandra Johnson with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Rosen and Nancy Herron (TPWD) served as project directors, and Rosen did the technical review and publication design work. The textbook is to be published by Texas A&M University Press.

The Texas Aquatic Science Website and Teacher's Guide was submitted to ACI by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The TPWD and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's Harte Research Center for Gulf of Mexico Studies partnered on the project.
