Three Texas State faculty honored as Top Women Professors in Texas

Texas State University faculty members Susan Beebe, Jiyun Kang and Debra Monroe have been named among the Top 25 Women Professors in Texas by Online Schools Texas.

Beebe is a senior lecturer of English and has been awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching. She earned her master’s degree from the University of Miami.

Kang is an assistant professor in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences and was awarded the Teaching Award of Honor from the Texas State Alumni Association. She earned her doctorate from Louisiana State University.

Monroe is a professor of fiction in the Master of Fine Arts program and has been awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching. She earned her doctorate from the University of Utah.

The mission of Online Schools Texas is to challenge the idea of one-size fits all when it comes to education. The organization provides information and an open-minded philosophy about other alternatives. The goal of the top professors lists is to highlight post-secondary educators who have been awarded recently for excellence in the classroom, on campus and/or in the community.
