Gannon named director of alumni relations at Texas State

Kim Gannon has been named director of alumni relations and executive director of the Alumni Association at Texas State University-San Marcos.

Gannon brings more than 20 years of experience in alumni relations and educational advancement to Texas State. Most recently, she was the director of alumni relations at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo.

Her responsibilities at Texas State will include building relationships, membership and involvement with more than 130,000 alumni while creating a stronger link between the association and students, alumni and friends of the university.

Gannon will work with the Texas State Alumni Association’s board of directors and its committees to develop and implement plans and goals for the organization. She will serve as a senior team member in the University Advancement Division.

In addition to her work at Cal Poly, Gannon has worked as director of alumni relations at Sonoma State University and the University of La Verne. She holds a bachelor of arts in communications from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
