Discourse in Democracy hosts Deputy State of Texas CIO in virtual event

SAN MARCOS – John Hoffman, deputy State of Texas chief information officer and Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) chief technology officer, will speak during Texas State University's online event, "A Vision for Agile, Innovative and Secure Government Technology," 4-5 p.m. March 2.

The virtual event is free and open to the public, although advance registration is required at www.eventbrite.com/e/a-vision-for-agile-innovative-and-secure-government-technology-tickets-139194742221. The program is hosted by Discourse in Democracy in the Department of Political Science.

Hoffman joined the DIR in 2010 and has held various roles within the agency in network and security. He is responsible for providing comprehensive strategic planning for the state's technology efforts as well as the agency. Hoffman ensures strategic development of contracts and services that the DIR offers, including enterprise architecture, application management, innovation and technology implementation.
