'Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play' presents humorous apocalypse

SAN MARCOS –Texas State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will stage Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play, Oct. 2-7.

Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2-6, with a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 7. Performances will be in the Performing Arts Center.

Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play is written by Anne Washburn, with a score by Ashleigh Stone and lyrics by Anne Washburn. 

The play is the story of survival and reinvention of civilization in a post-apocalyptic world. Washburn’s intriguing comedy explores the interplay between technological collapse, pop culture and humanity's drive to survive. 

Individual tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students for the Oct. 2-4 performances; $18 for adults and $8 for students for Oct. 5-7 shows. Special Event Parking for all fine arts events occurring is now only available in the Edward Gary Street Garage, 405 N. Edward Gary Street. The garage is located on the corner of University Drive and Edward Gary Street for a flat fee of $5 per event.
