Four keynote addresses highlight 29th Annual Mass Comm Week

SAN MARCOS – The Texas State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication will host the 29th annual Mass Communication week October 15-19.

This event is free and open to all mass communication and Texas State students.

The five-day conference features panelists, presenters and interviews that examine the current state of the media through discussions of various issues, trends and careers in mass communication. Students will connect with industry experts, allowing them to network and learn through hands-on training and big-picture analyses of emerging issues in mass communication.

Keynote speakers for 2018 include Alex Williamson, chief brand officer of Bumble; Lydia Saldana, communications director of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation; Carmen Graf, senior vice president and executive media director for GSD&M; and Frank LoMonte, professor and director of the Brechner Center for Freedom of Information, University of Florida. Each keynote address, along with other select programming, will be broadcast live via Facebook.
