The Division of Dance in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State University has been ranked No. 18 in the nation for Best Dance Bachelor’s Degree Schools by College Factual in 2022.

In 2021, Texas State Dance was ranked No. 1 in the Southwest region, No. 1 for Best Value, No. 1 for non-traditional students, and No. 2 in quality.

“I think this recognition speaks a lot to our faculty’s ongoing efforts to update the curriculum, flesh it out and make it relevant with the dance profession as it changes. It also recognizes Texas State as having an established program and community. It is very exciting,” says Michelle Nance, professor and director of the Division of Dance.

College Factual ranked Texas State in the top 10% of the country for dance and No. 1 in Texas. Last year, Texas State handed out 49 bachelor's degrees in dance.

The online college ranking site reviewed 204 schools in the U.S. to determine which ones were the best for bachelor’s degree seekers in the field of dance. Barnard College in New York  was named the top dance program in the nation.  The complete list may be viewed at  https://www.collegefactual.com/majors/visual-and-performing-arts/dance/rankings/
