Welcome Back Bobcats: Fall 2020

Dr. Gene Bourgeois, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs | August 19, 2020

Dear Students,

I know many of you have been working hard over the summer to prepare for the fall semester at Texas State University. The time is finally here.

Our faculty and staff have also been working hard to make your experience as safe, positive, and fulfilling as possible, whether you are online or on-campus.  And, just like you, we have been looking forward to having the energy and activity that students bring back on our campuses and in our classrooms.

We have created several resources to give you the information you need to make decisions that not only protect your health, but safeguard the well-being of our entire Bobcat community.  Please take a few minutes to watch this short video that outlines what we have done to make your learning experience safe, and what you can do to help.

I can’t stress this enough – it will take every one of us to make this semester a success.  We must wear face coverings, practice hand hygiene, and physical distancing, and follow the precautions we have worked hard to put in place at Texas State.  These are the actions we must take, both on campuses and off, to protect our plan to offer a combination of face-to-face and online courses and experiences this semester.

Help us give you the Texas State experience you want and create an environment where we can learn, engage, and have fun safely.  Visit the student section of our Roadmap to Return for more details on health and safety measures.

We say it often, because it is true: We are in this together.  Let your best Bobcat qualities of flexibility, compassion, and determination shine.

Can’t wait to see you at Texas State.
