TXST Student Health and Safety Video

Office of Vice President for Student Affairs | August 14, 2020

Dear Students,

As we begin to return to our campuses, it is important that all community members are well prepared and informed.  Together, we can take the necessary steps to ensure the health and safety of ourselves and fellow Bobcats.  We ask that you continue to monitor your health on a daily basis using our daily self-assessment tool.  To learn more about our plans to keep you safe and advance your educational goals, please visit our Texas State University Roadmap to Return.

To help you fully understand university health and safety measures, procedures, and the role they play in protecting those around you, all Texas State students will be required to view a mandatory health and safety video no later than August 20, 2020.  This 10-minute video features many of our student leaders and our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Emilio Carranco.  The video may be accessed here.

If you are returning to campus prior to August 20, please view the video before your arrival.  By completing the video and the Bobcat Pledge, we can all commit to help create a healthy and safe learning and working campus environment.  Students may also learn about accountability measures related to following the health and safety measures.

We all must take responsibility for practicing the health and safety measures and behaviors established by Texas State to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on our campuses and in the surrounding community. Our return to on-campus plans this fall are fully dependent on each member of the university community following all requirements and guidance.  In the fight against the spread of COVID-19, we are in this together as Bobcats.

Sincerely,

Mary Ellen Cavitt, Ph.D.

Interim Vice President for Student Affairs
