Texas State volleyball and soccer remain undefeated in conference play

Kelly Raaz | October 11, 2018

Two Texas State teams currently top the charts in their respected Sun Belt Conference rankings. Women’s soccer and volleyball both sit undefeated in conference games with a 6-0-1 and 7-0 record respectively.

The volleyball team extended its longest winning streak in history to 11 games after the October 6 victory over Georgia State.  Head Coach Karen Chisum believes this year’s team is quite special. “We have a blend of experience along with newer players. If someone struggles, there is someone else to step up and help. We have great depth this year and everyone is here for the same reason: to win the ring!” The team has nine remaining matches before the Sun Belt Conference Tournament begins November 15.

Texas State Soccer is the first program to officially clinch a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament for a second straight year. With a three-game win streak under their belt and just three conference games left, the team has high hopes to continue the success throughout the rest of the regular season. The tournament takes place October 31 – November 4.
