Production of 'We Are Proud to Present...' examines African genocide

Texas State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will stage We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as Southwest Africa, From the German Südwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915, running Thursday, November 9, through Sunday, November 12.

Evening shows will be at 7:30 p.m. The matinee performance, on November 12, will be at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the PSH Foundation Studio Theatre.

We Are Proud to Present…, written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, tells the story of the genocide in German South West Africa (modern-day Namibia), undertaken by the German Empire against the Herero, Nama and San people. The play will be directed by Isaac Byrne.
