The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment will host a series of Nature Play Pre-K Days this spring designed for preschool students, ages 3 to 5 years old, to learn while playing in nature.

“This event is the perfect chance for parents and grandparents to get their children outside to explore, learn and engage in a natural setting,” Instructional Programs Coordinator Sonja Mlenar said.

Each Nature Play Pre-K Day event will be held 10-11:15 a.m. with hands-on activities, including a guided glass-bottom boat ride and interactive crafts that let children use all five of their senses to connect with nature. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at The Meadows Center ticket kiosk.

The Spring 2017 Nature Play Pre-K Days are as follows:

  • Saturday, April 1: I spy things that fly
  • Saturday, May 6: April showers bring May flowers
  • Saturday, June 3: Musical Sounds of Nature

Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 50 participants per event. Tickets are $6 per person; children 2 and under are free. A minimum of one adult per group is required. To register and for more information, visit www.MeadowsWater.org/Education/Pre-KDay  or call (512) 245-7590.

Visitors are recommended to dress appropriately for outdoor weather and wear sturdy shoes. Cancellations must be received at least 24 hours in advance to receive a full refund. If a cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to the event, the refund will be half the total amount charged. The amount refunded will be applied to the credit card that was used for payment.
