Meadows Center to host homeschool day focused on water cycle

The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment will host a Homeschool Day on February 7 for families and groups to learn about the water cycle at Spring Lake.
Pre-registration is required for Homeschool Day. Tickets are available for $8 per person, with free admission for children 2 and under. A minimum of one adult is required per group.
“This event is perfect for smaller groups and families who cannot meet the 15-person minimum for a field trip at Spring Lake,” Instructional Programs Coordinator Sonja Mlenar said. “Our Homeschool Day is designed for families to learn together, while enjoying The Meadows Center’s exhibits and programs.”
Check-in begins at 9:30am at The Meadows Center ticket kiosk. The event will be held 10 a.m.-noon with hands-on activities fun for all ages, including:
- A guided glass-bottom boat ride
- An interpretive tour of the Discovery Hall aquaria and exhibits
- Interactive activities that teach students the interconnections between all living things and water

Visitors' vehicles are required to display a permit in The Meadows Center parking lot. One-day temporary permits are available for $3 at the kiosk located near the ticket booth.
