The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University will host a Winter Family Fun day at Spring Lake on Saturday, December 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be winter-themed crafts in the Discovery Hall, including a Meadows Center holiday ornament craft station as well as a Family Fun Day scavenger hunt where you can get 20 percent off a gift shop purchase after its completion.

“We wanted to have something different available for families to enjoy during the holiday season,” Spring Lake Educational Operations Manager Deborah Lane said. “This event is an affordable way to have fun, learn and enjoy the beauty of Spring Lake.”

The activities are appropriate for all ages, and families and groups are welcome. For more information, visit events.txstate.edu/recurrences/39653 or call (512) 245-7590.

Visitors can continue to celebrate the holiday season with The Meadows Center from December 26 to 30 by wearing a tacky holiday outfit to receive a $1 discount off glass bottom boat tickets. The promotion must be mentioned to receive the discount, and cannot be combined with other discounts.

The Meadows Center is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but will be closed for the holidays December 19-25 and December 31-January 1.
