Texas State University will be holding the first Communication Collaboration and Creativity Research Startup, or C3 Research Startup, September 18-19.

This research startup weekend is an intense creative conference that produces interdisciplinary research teams tasked with creating unique and innovative research proposals. Taking place in The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, the research startup is organized through the College of Fine Arts and Communication at Texas State.

This is the first event of its kind to be held at Texas State. Its goal is to take the intense creative atmosphere of a startup conference and apply it to forming research teams. This event is only open to registered participants.

Startup conference specialist Greg Tehven will be lending his talents to this pilot program designed to bring participants through the processes of brainstorming, creating and decision-making.  Events will conclude with the research presentation competition and a keynote by Art Markman from NPR’s “Two Guys on Your Head” on September 19 at 3:30p.m.
