Author Terrance Hayes to visit Alkek Library, KAP Literary Center

The Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center and the Wittliff Collections will host a reading and book signing by Terrance Hayes, author of Lighthead, the winner of the 2010 National Book Award in Poetry, November 12-13.

The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. on November 12 at the Wittliff Collections in the Alkek Library, and at 7:30 p.m. on November 13 at the Katherine Anne Porter Literary Center in Kyle. All events are free and open to the public. Books will be available during and after the event through the University Bookstore.

Terrance Hayes is the author of five books of poetry: How to Be Drawn, Lighthead, Wind in a Box (winner of a Pushcart Prize), Hip Logic (winner of the National Poetry Series) and Muscular Music (winner of both the Whiting Writers Award and the Kate Tufts Discovery Award). He has received many other honors, including a 2014 MacArthur Foundation “genius grant,” two Pushcart selections, eight Best American Poetry selections and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and the Guggenheim Foundation.
