LBJ Student Center hosts annual Celebration of the People Powwow

The Native American Student Association at Texas State University will host its annual Celebration of the People Powwow on Monday, November 16 in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom and Amphitheater.

Celebration of the People Powwow is a conference and powwow hosted every fall semester to promote Native American culture and diversity on campus and in the community. This year’s powwow will feature speaker presentations, storytelling, dance performances and more. Local and regional vendors will offer handmade arts and crafts of Native American tradition.

The conference will be held at 8 a.m. in the ballroom to be followed by the powwow at 12 p.m. in the amphitheater. Both conference and powwow are free and open to the public.

The event is sponsored by the Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion, the Underrepresented Student Advisory Council, Student Involvement at LBJ Student Center and Fourwinds Intertribal Council, Inc.
