The fall issue of Hillviews is now available in print and digital format. The app can be downloaded on smartphones, tablets or e-readers.

The digital edition is available for free at www.ua.txstate.edu/campus-connections/hillviews.html.

The focus of the issue is Service Learning and the College of Applied Arts.  Programs range from pre-veterinarian studies in agriculture to preparation for leadership in military sciences. Students gain skills and training that transform each of them to become part of the global community. Each program and department has evolved over the years to meet the world’s changing needs.

This issue also checks in with Bobcat alumni like Rose Berglund, Teacher of the Year in San Marcos; and Arnold Baker, a New Orleans businessman who helped to rebuild the city after Katrina. We profile John Fleming, dean of Fine Arts and Communication;   head   to New York City where the theater graduates got to perform for  an audience of stage, film, and television professionals; and discover the Lonesome Dove Reunion slated for this spring in Fort Worth.

Hillviews also remembers when President Lyndon Johnson returned to his alma mater in 1965 to sign the Higher Education Act, which eventually made the dream of college a reality for more Americans.

Hillviews, published three times a year, is distributed to members of the Alumni Association and the Family Association. The digital edition ― with extra content ― is available free to everyone.
