There has been an increase in bicycle thefts on the Texas State University main campus in San Marcos.

The thieves are targeting higher-end bicycles. Some secured bicycles have had their cable-style locks cut in two. Anyone witnessing suspicious activity anywhere on campus should please contact the university police at (512) 245-2805.

The University Police Department would like to remind the campus community to utilize a strong U-lock-style bicycle lock such as the "Kryptonite New York" lock. Also, lock bicycles only to university bicycle racks. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to register bicycles at the Bike Cave or the University Police Department.
