Texas State University has been recognized as a top veteran-friendly school in the Military Times’ “Best for Vets” 2015 college rankings released Nov. 10.

Texas State was No. 14 among four-year colleges and universities ranked for the services they provide to veteran students and families.

The rankings were developed from surveys of 150 questions submitted to more than 600 schools across the country. The rankings are based on 12 categories that encompass university culture, academic quality, student support, academic policies and financial aid.

Among its efforts, Texas State offers its student veterans a variety of services including financial aid advising, personal counseling and job placement as well as efforts to bring awareness to students, faculty and staff about the presence of armed services veterans on campus as well as others.
