Department of Theatre and Dance presents Lorca's tragedy, 'Yerma'

The Texas State University Department of Theatre and Dance will present Federico Garcia Lorca’s Spanish lyrical tragedy, “Yerma,” Nov. 19-23 at 7:30 and Nov. 24 at 2 p.m.

The performances will be held on the Mainstage Theatre on campus. Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday, Nov. 4.

“Yerma” focuses on a childless woman living in rural Spain. Lorca’s play explores gender roles and the dynamics of both personal and cultural expectations. The performance is directed by Deb Alley and translated by Michael Dewell and Carmen Zapata.
