The Texas State Writing Center has relocated and now occupies the entire first floor of the Academic Services Building North (ASBN).

The location near other student services will increase the Writing Center’s visibility and accessibility, and the larger space will enable the Writing Center to increase the volume of students it can serve, said Writing Center Director Nancy Wilson.

“The Writing Center has been upgraded from a small store in a large mall to a prime location on Main Street,” Wilson said. “With this move the University acknowledges the importance of writing, writing instruction, and the Writing Center. I’m very proud.”

At the Writing Center, established in 1984, trained tutors provide individual counseling in writing for Texas State students at any level of study. Tutors help with all types of writing, including essays, technical writing, research papers, formal letters, in-class essay exams, MLA/APA documentation, professional writing, and resumes. Tutors also offer help with the GSP.

The Writing Center also has new hours, including Sunday evening appointment times:

10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday
Noon-5 p.m. Friday
6-10 p.m. Sunday

Texas State students, staff, and faculty can book their 25-minute or 55-minute appointments online at
