Texas State University-San Marcos biology graduate student Shobhit Sharma has received the 2012 John P. McGovern Fellowship from the Texas Research Society on Alcoholism (TRSA).

The $5,000 TRSA fellowship is provided to a medical, dental or graduate student to complete a research project involving alcohol or drug abuse/addiction. It is expected that the student will write the grant under the sponsorship of a member of TRSA who is active in this research area.

Sharma’s faculty sponsor is Natalie Ceballos, an alcohol researcher funded by the National Institutes of Health and an assistant professor in the Texas State Department of Psychology. Ceballos serves as Sharma's research adviser through an appointment in the Texas State Department of Biology.
