The Bobcat Pause Memorial Service will be held April 13 at Texas State University-San Marcos in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom.

A reception will begin at 5:15 p.m., with the ceremony starting at 6 p.m.

Bobcat Pause is an annual event hosted by the Student Foundation and Dean of Students office at Texas State. The ceremony honors students, and current and retired faculty and staff who have passed away during the previous year. Bobcat Pause allows the families and friends of these fallen Bobcats to reflect upon and honor their loved ones along with current Texas State students, faculty, staff and members of the San Marcos community. This event hopes to instill the importance of remembrance and family and to offer comfort to those who mourn the deceased.

The ceremony includes an opening reception, short introduction, roll call (reading of the names of Texas State family members who are deceased), and remarks by Texas State President Denise M. Trauth. This year’s event will also include a musical selection from the University Choral.
