The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State University-San Marcos will hold its annual Mass Comm Week October 25-28.

Mass Comm Week is a four-day event, featuring more than 60 speakers from across the United States to discuss issues, treads and working in mass media. The theme for this year’s Mass Comm Week is “Media: A Sustainable Future.”

“Mass Comm Week allows our students to meet professionals working the field and learn about the latest media trends and innovations,” said Bruce Smith, director of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Texas State. “Media are changing, and we want to ensure our students are prepared.”

The event will focus on sustainability in the media, highlighting new media innovations and the impact of social media, as well as traditional print and broadcast media and how to sustain the industry. The events will be held at San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and are open to the general public.
