Texas State University-San Marcos will feature the quick picking, lively fiddle and upbeat folk songs of John Kirk and Trish Miller as part of the Supple Music Series.

It will be held off campus Sept. 28, 7:30 p.m. in the Price Seniors Center at 222 W. San Antonio St. in San Marcos.

John Kirk and Trish Miller are a versatile folk ensemble from upstate New York featuring Americana, Canadian and Celtic styles and have been making music together for more than 20 years. They will be accompanied by Mark Cosgrove on guitar and Rick Wood on bass.

Miller will be featured in a master's dance class under the direction of Kaitlin Hopkins in the musical theatre program. Cosgrove, a national flat-picking guitar champion, will be a featured guest for Grant Mazak’s master's guitar students.

The event is part of the Jerry and Cathy Supple Folk Music Series and the University Encore Performing Arts Series. It is organized by the College of Fine Arts and Communication with corporate sponsorship from CenturyLink.
