Flags lowered in memory of former VP Ted Marek

President Denise Trauth has authorized the lowering of flags on campus to half staff in honor of the memory of Theodore “Ted” Marek who died at home in his sleep April 6 at age 81.

Marek served as Vice President for Finance and Management at Texas State from October 1981 to his retirement in January 1993.  He joined the administrative staff at Texas State in 1966 and served as Director of Accounting and later as the University Comptroller.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Pennington Funeral Home at 353 N. Comanche in San Marcos. The prayer service will be at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 9. Entombment will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Mausoleum in Pflugerville at 3:30 p.m.
