Career Services will host its annual Spring Job and Internship EXPO at Texas State University-San Marcos 3–6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 26 in Strahan Coliseum.

This year, the EXPO will host 135 employers looking to tap into the talent of Texas State students.  The EXPO is open to any and all students and job seekers of any academic field who are looking for full-time positions or internships.

Many of the attending companies will be available for on-campus interviews in the Career Services office, providing students with many opportunities to find a job or internship.

Reggie Toussant, a public relations senior, said the EXPO “is a very good opportunity to become familiar with the professional environment.  There are a lot of chances to meet with people inside and outside of you major.  It helps gain insight into what you really want to do.”

Participants should dress in business attire and are bring multiple copies of their resume to give to prospective employers.  Students can also research attending companies by registering on Jobs4Cats.

Career Services also offers Walk-in-Career-Coaching from 3-5 p.m. every Wednesday and Thursday. Students can also make appointments to get advice regarding resumes and interview preparation.

Rachel Haddock, health administration major, said Career Services really helped her with her resume.

“It was a complete mess before,” Haddock said.  “Now it’s actually presentable and I’m not embarrassed every time I hand it out.”

All students are encouraged to attend the event regardless of their classification and major.  Curt Schafer, director of Career Services, said, “Never miss an opportunity to network.  Whether it is an on-campus or off-campus event, students need to be aware of opportunities and need to act on those opportunities.”
