Texas State University-San Marcos’ Bobcat Build Student Planning Organization will hold a press conference Friday, January 25, at 3 p.m. in San Marcos City Council Chambers at City Hall, 630 East Hopkins, to announce 10 city projects that have been scheduled for the university’s largest service day.

Speakers will include Bobcat Build student leaders and city and university officials such as Bobcat Build Student Director Erin Jines, Texas State President Denise Trauth and City of San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz.

Bobcat Build, scheduled for April 5 this year, attracts more than 3,000 Texas State students who spend the day working alongside city residents to help beautify the San Marcos area through abut 100 service projects in neighborhoods, schools, churches, non-profit agencies and other locations.

Speakers will reveal city projects accepted for the upcoming service event. Sponsors that help make Bobcat Build’s success possible will also be announced along with the many Texas State organizations that volunteer their time to lend a hand to their community.

Please RSVP by calling the Office of Community Relations at Texas State University at (512) 245-9645 or by emailing communityrelations@txstate.edu. Visit www.txstate.edu/community and click on Bobcat Build for more information.
