Hard Hat Celebration slated for Rec Center expansion

SAN MARCOS – The public is invited to a special “Hard Hat Celebration/groundbreaking ceremony for the Student Recreation Center expansion project at Texas State University-San Marcos.

The event will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, on Read Street, behind the existing Student Recreation Center. The rain site will be Court 3 of the Recreation Center. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

The expanded SRC will include eight basketball/volleyball courts, two indoor pools, a larger weight room, cardiovascular fitness areas, a rock climbing wall, a golf simulator and additional office and meeting space.

Partial completion is expected in Fall 2008.
