Texas State participating in "Town & Gown" public forum

The San Marcos Area League of Women Voters will sponsor a “Town & Gown” public forum Monday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in the San Marcos Activity Center.

President Denise Trauth will represent Texas State University-San Marcos at the forum. Other participants include San Marcos Mayor Susan Narvaiz, Hays County Judge Liz Sumter and San Marcos CISD Superintendent Patty Shafer.

The speakers will engage in a dialogue exploring the current relationships among the four entities, as well as discussing issues facing each in future endeavors. Each will speak for approximately 10 minutes on issues presented to them by the League. This will be followed by an extended period in which each will address audience questions. The goal of the forum is to create a better understanding among these entities.

The public is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served following the forum.
