Texas State prepares for summer commencement ceremonies

 SAN MARCOS – Fred W. Heldenfels IV, chief executive officer of Heldenfels Inc. and a member of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, will be the keynote speaker at one of three commencement ceremonies to be held Aug. 10 and 11 at Texas State University-San Marcos.

 Heldenfels will speak at the graduation ceremony to be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, in Strahan Coliseum on the Texas State campus. Degree candidates from the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Science will attend the Saturday morning ceremony.

 Degree candidates from the College of Applied Arts and the McCoy College of Business Administration will attend the ceremony to be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. Degree candidates from the Colleges of Education, Fine Arts and Communication, and Health Professions will attend the ceremony to be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10.

 Texas State President Denise M. Trauth will deliver remarks at both Friday ceremonies. Friday’s ceremonies will also be held in Strahan Coliseum.

 Heldenfels Inc. is a company headquartered in San Marcos that specializes in the manufacture and installation of precast and prestressed concrete structures. Through several generations, the business has grown and has been involved with practically every major construction arena in Texas, including highways, bridges, subdivisions, office building, industrial plants, airports and sports venues.
