Texas State unveils redesigned website

Michael Heintze, associate vice president for enrollment management and marketing and chair of the website workgroup, said, “The goal of our team was to provide the university with a more effective tool with which to communicate internally and externally.

From a marketing perspective, Heintze said, “We sought to design a site that would take advantage of the university’s new content management system, make use of current web technology and strengthen the university’s brand.”

A new template with similar colors to the homepage will be made available later this summer. The new design will be made available to the campus over the summer. Users can view the new template on the GATO website at http://gato.its.txstate.edu/gallery/templates.html.

Mike Farris, director of educational technology, said, “This is a great beginning and we look forward to completing the implementation of the new design and the content management system. We will be making additional enhancements to our websites in the coming year.”

Farris noted that his staff is currently working on a new campus-wide calendaring system that will be operational by fall.
