Mass Communication week arrives at Old Main

SAN MARCOS —The Texas State University-San Marcos School of Journalism and Mass Communication is sponsoring its annual Mass Communication Week Oct. 24-26 at the university’s iconic Old Main building.

Media professionals from around the country will share their knowledge on current industry trends to the school’s more than 1,800 students. This year’s keynote speaker is ABC Primetime co-anchor and San Antonio native John Quinones, presenting “A Network Correspondent’s 20/20 Vision” on Oct. 25 at Old Main 320 at 11 a.m.

Mass Communication Week includes notable speakers from diverse fields that include print media, advertising, public relations and broadcasting. Among the list of illustrious names are Bill Celis, of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, State Representative Eddie Rodriguez, and Karen Brooks from the Dallas Morning News.

Students will also have the opportunity to attend presentations and panel discussions presented by graduate students, and interview skills and resume writing workshops provided by Texas State University Career Services.
