Date of release: 09/13/05

SAN MARCOS—The Counseling Center at Texas State University-San Marcos will coordinate a Stress Symposium and Fair Oct. 5-6 in the LBJ Student Center on campus.
The two-day event will focus on the larger picture of how stress plays an important role in our student’s lives.

The Stress Fair will be 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 5 in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom, and will consist of a wide range of tables offering information or services to help manage stress--from yoga to relaxation, fitness and health to study help, career information and campus involvement.

The Stress Symposium will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 6 in the LBJ Student Center, and will provide presentations that address how stress affects mental, emotional and physical well-being as well as ways to make the changes we need to live a less stressful life.

The purpose of the program is to provide students an opportunity to learn more about stress and stress management from the variety of perspectives in an interactive environment. Faculty are invited to encourage students to attend as part of their education outside the classroom. Attendance verification slips will be provided at all presentations.
