“Islam 101” featured topic at Wimberley Lecture Series

SAN MARCOS — Karl Brown, retired director of the Campus Christian Community at Texas State University-San Marcos, will deliver a free public lecture as part of the Wimberley Lecture Series, Tuesday, April 12.

The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at Chapel in the Hills in Wimberley.

Brown will discuss “Islam 101” exploring the various tenants and misconceptions regarding that religion. He will address how that belief system comes into conflict with western society, and what the prospects are for theological co-existence. A question and answer session will follow.

The series features Texas State faculty, held the second Tuesday of each month. This is the final lecture for the 2004-05 school year. The series will resume in the fall.
