Tizatlan Scorpion Ballet Folklorico troupe to perform at Texas State

SAN MARCOS — Grupo Folklorico Ocotochtli, the Ballet Folklorico group of Texas State University-San Marcos, will host two performances featuring Tizatlan Scorpion from the University of Texas at Brownsville Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. in Evans Auditorium. .

Tizatlan Scorpion is a folklore dance company composed of performers who love the traditions of Mexico expressed through music, songs and dances characteristic of different ethnic groups. Ballet Folklorico is colorful expression of the authentic folklore of Mexico. The show will consist of live music and a heady rush of tapping heels, dazzling costumes and insistent rhythms varying from six regions of Mexico. The performance will be accompanied by live music. .
