Texas State presents Beyond Therapy

Date released: 01/21/04

SAN MARCOS – The Texas State University-San Marcos Department of Theatre and Dance presents Christopher Durang’s psychoanalytic comedy, Beyond Therapy, Jan. 29-31 at 7:30 p.m.

In this a satirical romp targeting modern society’s obsession with psychiatric therapy, a man and a woman attempt to sort out their lives and learn to live without regular visits to the therapist’s couch. Of course, they quickly find out that’s easier said than done--with uproarious results.

“The script is filled with off-beat laugh lines, wry observations on the contemporary urban psyche and situations that range from farcical to absurd,” (Women’s Wear Daily).

Beyond Therapy will be presented in the Studio Theater at the Texas State Theatre Center. Admission prices are $7 for the general public, $5 for students. For further information, contact the Texas State Box Office at (512) 245-2145.
