Ellen McLaughlin’s “Tongue of a Bird” presented at SWT

SAN MARCOS — The Southwest Texas State University Department of Theatre and Dance presents Ellen McLaughlin’s contemporary drama, Tongue of a Bird, Feb. 18-22 at 7:30 p.m., and Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

The show will take place on the main stage of the Theatre Center on the SWT campus. Tickets are $10 for the general public, $5 for students.

Tongue of a Bird features Maxine, a search and rescue pilot known for her ability to “see things” that most people don’t. When Maxine is hired to help find a little girl abducted during a mountain hike, revelations about the missing girl unveil dark secrets and memories kept locked in Maxine’s past.

Tongue of a Bird features veteran actors from previous productions at SWT, including Melissa Vogt (Chicago), Maxey Whitehead and Breanna Stogner (Hay Fever), Jamie Teer (At-Random Productions), as well as introducing transfer student Jill Swanson as Maxine.
