Media invited to meet new SWT President

SAN MARCOS, TEXAS— Denise M. Trauth was named the ninth president of Southwest Texas State University on June 11, 2002. She officially begins her administration on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The media are invited to catch a glimpse of Trauth’s first day on the job and briefly speak one on one with the new president from 10 to 11 a.m. in the President’s Office (JC Kellam (JCK) Building, Room 1060).

Trauth came to SWT from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she served as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. Before taking that job, she served as dean of the UNCC Graduate School and as a professor of communication studies.
